โหมดการถ่ายภาพ

                ในกล้องดิจิตอลแต่ละรุ่นหรือแต่ละยี่ห้ออาจมีโหมดการถ่ายภาพมากน้อยไม่เท่ากัน ซึ่งได้แก่

โหมดถ่ายภาพอัตโนมัติ (Auto) มักจะมีอยู่ในกล้องทุกตัว โดยกล้องจะปรับตั้งค่าต่างๆ ในการถ่ายภาพที่เห็นว่าเหมาะสมให้เราเอง

โหมดถ่ายภาพต่อเนื่อง คือการถ่ายภาพแบบต่อเนื่องกันเป็นชุด โดยกดปุ่มชัตเตอร์ครั้งเดียวค้างไว้ กล้องก็จะถ่ายภาพติดต่อกันไปเรื่อยๆ ให้เองจนครบตามจำนวนสูงสุดที่ทำได้

โหมดถ่ายภาพเคลื่อนไหว เป็นการบันทึกวิดีโอพร้องเสียงประกอบ ซึ่งแล้วแต่กล้องบ้างกล้องก็ไม่มีเสียง

โหมดปรับความเร็วชัดเตอร์เอง  โดยให้ปรับความเร็วของชัตเตอร์เอง แล้วกล้องจะปรับรูรับแสงที่เหมาะสมให้เรา

โหมดปรับรูรับแสงเอง โดยให้เรารับรูรับแสงเอง แล้วกล้องจะปรับความเร็วชัตเตอร์ที่เหมาะสมให้เรา

โปรแกรมถ่ายภาพ (Scene Mode) เป็นโปรแกรมในสถานการณ์ต่างๆ ที่กล้องกำหนดค่าไว้ให้แล้ว เช่น

                    Portrait เป็นโปรแกรมสำหรับถ่ายภาพบุคคล ใช้เมื่อต้องการเน้นที่ตัวแบบเป็นหลัก กล้องมักปรับให้รูรับแสงกว้างเพื่อให้ตัวแบบชัดและฉากหลังเบลอ แต่ในกล้องบางรุ่นโดยเฉพาะกล้องคอมแพ็คดิจิตอล การทำให้เกิดชัดตื้นเป็นเรื่องที่ทำได้ยาก

                    Night Portrait  โปรแกรมสำหรับถ่ายภาพบุคคลเวลากลางคืน เช่น ในงานเลี้ยง หรือถ่ายภาพคนกับฉากหลังที่เป็นสถาปัตยกรรมยามค่ำคืน โดยกล้องจะใช้แฟลสเพื่อช่วยให้ตัวแบบสว่างแล้วทำการเปิดรับแสงให้นานขึ้น เพื่อเก็บฉากด้านหลังด้วย ผลที่ได้คือทั้งตัวแบบและฉากหลังจะสว่าง

                Party/Indoor เป็นโปรแกรมถ่ายภาพในอาคาร ใช้ถ่ายภาพบุคคลภายในอาคารหรือที่มีแสงสว่างน้อย โดยกล้องจะใช้แฟลสแบบ red-eye reduction กับความเร็วชัตเตอร์ค่าหนึ่งที่ค่อนข้างต่ำ

                Landscape โปรแกรมถ่ายภาพทิวทัศน์ ใช้ถ่ายภาพวิวทั่วๆ ไป เช่น ทะเล ภูเขา กล้องจะถ่ายภาพโดยไม่ใช้แฟลซ เหมือนกับเมนูถ่ายภาพทิวทัศน์ทั่วไป ส่วนการปรับสมดุลแสงสีขาว และออปชั่นอื่นๆ มักอยู่ในโหมดอัตโนมัติ

                Firework Show โปรแกรมถ่ายภาพดอกไม้ไฟ ภาพดอกไม้ไฟเป็นภาพถ่ายเวลากลางคืนอีกลักษณะหนึ่งที่มีเสน่ห์ สำหรับโปรแกรมการถ่ายภาพดอกไม้ไฟนั้น กล้องจะตั้งความเร็วชัตเตอร์ให้ต่ำ และรูรับแสงแคบ และปิดแฟลซ เพื่อ่จับการเคลื่อนไหวของแสงจากดอกไม้ไฟ ดังนั้นอุปกรณ์ที่สำคัญอีกอย่างหนึ่งที่ต้องมีคือขาตั้งกล้อง

                Sunset โปรแกรมถ่ายภาพพระอาทิตย์ เป็นโปรแกรมที่ปรับมาเพื่อถ่ายภาพพระอาทิตย์ตกโดยเฉพาะ โดยจะให้สีสันของภาพเน้นไปทางสีส้มพร้อมทั้งปิดแฟลซ แต่ข้อควรระวังในการถ่ายภาพลักษณะนี้คือ ไม่ควรถ่ายตอนที่พระอาทิตย์อยู่สูงมากเกินไป เนื่องจากความแรงของแสงจะทำให้ CCD เสียได้

                Sport โปรแกรมถ่ายภาพกีฬา หมายถึงการถ่ายภาพเคลื่อนไหวให้หยุดนิ่ง ดังนั้นกล้องจะตั้งความเร็วชัตเตอร์สูง เพื่อจับความเคลื่อนไหวนั้น แต่บางกีฬาอาจใช้การแพนกล้องเพื่อให้เกิดความรู้สึกถึงความเร็วของกีฬานั้นๆ
