          ประเภทของแบตเตอรี่ที่กล้องดิจิตอลส่วนใหญ่ใช้มีดังนี้

                แบบถ่านไฟฉาย AA ที่มีขายกันทั่วไป ซึ่งแบบนี้ใช้แล้วทิ้ง  ไม่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ได้  สิ้นเปลือง  จึงไม่นิยมนำมาใช้กับกล้องดิจิตอล

                AA  Alkaline  มีลักษณะเหมือนถ่านไฟฉายก้อนเล็ก  แต่สามารถใช้งานได้ยาวนานกว่า  นำมาใช้กับกล้องดิจิตอลได้  แต่ไม่สามารถนำมาชาร์จได้

                AA  Ni-CD หรือนิกเกิ้ลแคดเมียน  แบตเตอรี่แบบนี้สามารถชาร์จไฟได้ แต่เดี๋ยวนี้ไม่ค่อยนิยมใช้กันแล้ว เมื่อก่อนจะนิยมในวงการรถวิทยุบังคับ ถึงแม้นจะชาร์จไฟได้ใหม่แต่เวลาใช้งานจะไม่ค่อยสะดวกนัก เพราะต้องใช้ให้หมด หากไฟยังไม่หมดแล้วนำมาชาร์จใหม่ จะทำให้ประสิทธิภาพการประจุไฟของแบตเตอรี่ลดลง

                NiMH หรือ นิกเกิ้ลเมทัลไฮไดรด์  แบตเตอรี่แบบนี้ชาร์จไฟได้เหมือน Ni-CD แต่ว่าดีกว่า ไม่ต้องใช้งานจนหมดแล้วค่อยชาร์จ จึงทำให้เป็นที่นิยมเอามาใช้งานกับกล้องดิจิตอลมากกว่า มีหลายความจุของไฟให้เลือกใช้งาน ถ้าเลือกแบตเตอรี่ที่มีความจุมากๆ ก็จะทำให้ใช้งานได้นานขึ้นด้วย

                Li-Ion หรือ ลิเธียมไอออน เป็นแบตเตอรี่ที่ได้รับความนิยมมากสุด เพราะใช้งานค่อนข้างสะดวก แต่ราคาค่อนข้างสูง และแบตเตอรี่มักจะเป็นรุ่นเฉพาะกับตัวกล้อง จะซื้อของกล้องยี่ห้ออื่น หรือบางทียี่ห้อเดียวกันแต่คนละรุ่นก็ไม่สามารถใช้งานได้ อันนี้ต้องดูด้วยว่าบางทีกล้องตกรุ่นไปแบตเตอรี่ก็อาจจะไม่มีจำหน่ายไปด้วย ก็เลือกกล้องก็ต้องเลือกที่นิยมหน่อยจะได้มีแบตเตอรี่ซื้อใช้ในอนาคต

การดูแลรักษาและใช้งานแบตเตอรี่

-ก่อนใช้งานควรชาร์จไฟให้เต็ม

                -ควรใช้ให้หมดแล้วค่อยนำไปชาร์จใหม่             

                -ถ้าเป็นแบตเตอรี่แบบ NiMH ให้คายประจุเดือนละครั้ง

                -ถ้าไม่ได้ใช้งานนานๆ ให้ชาร์จให้เต็มแล้วเอาไปเก็บไว้

                -และก่อนนำกลับมาใช้ให้ชาร์จให้เต็มก่อน

                และควรระวังที่สุด คืออย่าเอาอะไรที่เป็นโลหะไปโดนตรงขั้วแบตเตอรี่โดยเด็ดขาด เพราะอาจเกิดการลัดวงจรทำให้แบตเตอรี่เสียได้
