          มีหลากหลายแบบ ดังต่อไปนี้

Compact  Flash Card

          Compact  Flash Card หรือ CF เป็นหน่วยความจำที่ได้รับความนิยม มีใช้ตั้งแต่กล้องรุ่นเล็กถึงรุ่นใหญ่ หาซื้อง่ายราคาถูก มีให้เลือกหลายรุ่น หลายยี่ห้อ และยังสามารถเลือกความเร็วของ card ได้  โดยความเร็วยิ่งสูงราคาก็จะสูงตามไปด้วย

SD Card

          SD Card เป็นแบบที่กำลังได้รับความนิยม เริ่มได้รับความนิยมมากในช่วงสองสามปีที่ผ่านมา เพราะมีขนาดที่เล็ก และมีความเร็วค่อนข้างสูง กล้องรุ่นที่ออกใหม่ๆ จะนิยมใช้หน่วยความจำประเภทนี้

 Multimedia Card

          Multimedia Card หรือ MMC  อันนี้จะคล้ายๆ SD แต่เทคโนโลยีมันไม่ได้พัฒนาความเร็วเพิ่มขึ้นมากเท่าแบบอื่น หรือไม่ได้มีการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยี

          Smart  Media  อันนี้เลิกใช้กันไปแล้ว หมดยุคแล้ว

          Memory Stick ,Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo ใช้ในกล้อง sony ราคาสูงกว่าตัวอื่นๆ

XD Card

          XD Card หน่วยความจำแบบนี้เป็นแบบที่ใช้ในกล้อง Olympus กับกล้อง Fuji  มีความเร็วสูง และมีเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัย แต่ยังไม่ค่อยจะแพร่หลายมาก ราคาต่อความจุยังสูงอยู่

          Microdrive ส่วนอันนี้จะเป็น hard disk ขนาดเล็ก ความหนาจะหนากว่า CF พอประมาณ กินไฟ ห้ามทำตก หรือกระแทก การเขียนข้อมูลเร็วพอประมาณ
